New Year's Eve

I Didn't want to do it. I didn't want to go to church on New Years Eve with Doris. I'm sick of going to church on New Year's Eve. Old people go to church on New Year's Eve. I was content to just stay at home in our warm cuddly bed & watch the ball drop on TV. But Doris didn't want that. She was bound & determined to go to church. With her sister. Pain in the butt. All they ever want to do; go to church & funerals. They are definitely getting old. No question. I was so sad. If I stayed home & did what I wanted & she went with her dang sister & did what she wanted- did that mean we were definitely headed for a breakup after all these years? That's how it felt. Aren't you supposed to WANT to be with your lover on New Years Eve when the clock strikes midnight, of all times? Felt like we are just so far appart now. Like why are we even together?

So I finally gave in (after she yelled at me that all I ever do is complain complain complain.) And you know what? It was great! The music was great, the sermon was great, I enjoyed it. And afterwards we went to a diner for breakfast. It was a good New Years eve.
