I Love Facebook

Well it's official.
I like Face Book better than blogging.
Damn.
Who woulda thunk it???
I have loved blogging for years.
hmmm. What the hell?

First, fb was just for my family & cool lesbians. It was great keeping up with all the grandkids & also my star dykes on fb!
I listed myself as KMae Bee. B is the 1st initial of my last name.

But then I started missing my Flight Attendant friends since Ive been on sick leave for so long. I started picking my favorites to be fb friends. So I changed my KMae Bee to my real name so they'd know who the hell I was. (None of them are on my bloglist...nope.)

And now the majority on my fb are FA's. Some I dont care that much for are asking to be friends. Not sure what to do about that.

The next dilema is since my real name is down there now, so many people from my high school are asking to be friends. I Definitely do not want to accept them. We already have a high school website we all write on.

As much as I care for many of them & see them each reunion, most are fucking dumbass republicans (Im from Texas) & I have no tolerance for their racism & homophobia.

Actually I stopped following some blog friends because I was so turned off that they were supposedly gay republicans. I was Pissed. Dickwad brains. Anyone voting republican does not support MY gay rights..

Of course I know I dont have to accept any friends on fb. But I dont want to hurt peoples feelings either.

So I am trying to figure it out. But I do love fb, its quick & SO funny. Thats the best part. Its addicting. I think I am starting to get carpal tunnel from staying on so long each day. I sure as hell dont get much else done!

Somebody Help me!

Fran and I just had a discussion about this, as it relates to her. We finally realized that it can end up coming back to bite you if you friend some, but not others. Even if you don't mean it personally, not friending coworkers, or people from your past who reach out to you, will probably be taken personally. Unless there's a serious distaste for the person, I say friend them. Let the chips fall where they may, they chose to read what you write.

Okay, thanks for the advice.
I just took a big, deep breath & accepted everyone. Shit. Now what the hell dod I do? Like in doing so, there are 3 fA's I really dont like working with that actually wanted to be my friend. 4 actually. Well I'll let you know how it all turns out.
gulp.

Oh isn't it crazy? I just ran into someone in real life that I had deleted off fb! LOL But she never flippin talked to me so I consider it a waste of time. Guess you don't have to talk to them, which I don't get. It's an enigma

I'm with Julie. I've deleted people who never talked to me. What's the point?

Some people never leave high school and the more 'friends' they have the more secure they feel. Of course, it's all superficial, just like high school.

I don't care about that. I have people on my list I am truly interested in. I've deleted several who were just there for superficial reasons.

Good luck. I'd say dump the people you don't like. What the hell are they going to do? Make you like them less? Ooooo, bet yer a-skeered of that.

ps... I'm not suggesting you are in need of superficial fb friends. I suspect the FAs you don't like probably are.

God that piece you wrote on your travels about flying was SO halarious & SO right on!!!

I tend to accept high school friends and long-lost coworkers who friend me on FB, but like the others have said, I delete them if I'm not digging their vibe. One Republican who had friended me later beat me to the unfriending punch—guess she didn't much like my politics either. : )
